Redesigning the MakerDAO Governance Voting Portal.
Enhancing the on-chain voting experience for MKR token holders.
The problem
On-chain voting presents several challenges:
• High gas costs deter participation.
• Limited user knowledge about governance processes.
• Inconsistent UX patterns across the portal.
• Poor visibility of voting results and their impact.
The Solution
1. Gasless Voting: Implemented a cost-free voting mechanism using an Arbitrum relayer system.
2. Delegate Metrics: Increased transparency and engagement with detailed delegation and participation insights.
3. Unified UX: Developed a cohesive design system for seamless and intuitive interactions.
4. Clear Visuals: Introduced detailed vote breakdowns by address and weight to improve result comprehension.
5. Governance Education: Added integrated resources to simplify and explain governance concepts.
